Renting a furnished apartment

Are you looking for an apartment rental? Have you considered renting a furnished apartment? Furnished apartments are an excellent rental opportunity, especially when you are looking for a more short-term rental. They offer a variety of benefits, especially the fact that the unit is completely ready to be inhabited. A fully furnished property will have all the living rooming, dining room, and bedroom furniture you will need, in addition to offering many of the items you will need for daily life from dishes and pots to cleaning supplies and more.

Moving furniture and home décor can be an extremely frustrating and time consuming endeavour. A furnished apartment comes complete with all the comforts of living you expect. Plus, depending on your budget, you can find rentals to accommodate any lifestyle. Furthermore, even though apartments usually have higher rents, you can save a considerable chunk of cash on the costs of decorating and furnishing the apartment yourself.

Renting a furnished apartment is easy and straightforward. First, you need to consider the features and amenities that are important to you. Perhaps you want to live close to transit and you want an apartment with a complete dining room; regardless of your needs, there are likely a number of options for renting a furnished apartment in your city. The Internet, your local newspaper, and real estate office often contain a listing of furnished apartments; simply contact appealing properties to make appointments to view these apartments as you would with any new home search.

Before settling on a furnished rental property, you should determine all the costs associated with renting the unit. While renting a furnished property will save you on some of the living costs, utility costs, the use of linens, kitchenware, and other fees may not be included in your rent. Be sure to make a complete list of the services provided for each unit before you start renting a furnished apartment. Security deposits, parking fees, and security costs are also not always included in rental costs.

Many professionals prefer renting a furnished place when they know that they can only commit to a short-term stay. Whether you will only be staying in a city for a limited period of time, or you know that your job requires extensive travel, a furnished apartment can provide the comforts of home without the usual stress of settling into a new apartment. In the longer term, it may not always make the most sense to rent a furnished property. Increased rental costs build up over time and the included furniture will not likely offset these costs in the long run. Nevertheless, if you are seeking a comfortable dwelling that offers immediate liveability, renting a furnished apartment might be the perfect option for you.

Work on double-track project ahead of schedule

Sunday September 18, 2011

GEORGE TOWN: The 329km Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrified Double-Track Project is expected to be completed ahead of the scheduled date, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin, who is on a working visit to Penang, said construction work was progressing smoothly. I understand that the project will be completed ahead of the scheduled date in 2014,” he told reporters during a visit to the site of the Tasek Gelugor station.

Datuk Mohd Nor Idrus, a director with project contractor MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture Sdn Bhd who was present during Muhyiddin's visit, said the overall project was 0.5% ahead of schedule with 66.71% of it completed. Work on the Tasek Gelugor station, one of six stations to be built in Seberang Prai under the project, is even more ahead of schedule, recording 64.94% completion over the 62.96% targeted completion rate.

“We are working well. When you have the cooperation from government authorities both state and federal the project is bound to be on time or ahead of schedule,” Mohd Nor told reporters. He said the station was expected to be completed in April next year, but would only be open to the public when the whole double-track project was completed.

Muhyiddin, who was on a one-day visit to Penang, later announced that the Federal Government had approved a RM6.3mil allocation for the construction of a new school block for SJK (T) Ladang Batu Kawan. In April, Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, had approved RM1.7mil for the school. He also brought good news to villagers in flood-prone Kampung Manggis in Simpang Ampat, saying that land clearing works for their housing project would begin by year end.

Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad has allocated RM4.8mil to build houses for the approved 48 applicants. “However, I have requested an additional RM1.5mil allocation from the National Security Council to build houses for the remaining 16 applicants,” he said.

Wellesley Residences - Official Launch (17-18/09/2011)

The latest addition to Harbour Place, Wellesley Residences, finally opened its doors to the public. This much-anticipated official launch event is the result of what happened during the private preview a few weeks back where 40% sales was achieved. The crowd started to flow in as soon as the event started and it remained this way for almost the entire duration.

The scale models of the Harbour Place master layout and Wellesley Residences were certainly the center of attention for most the potential purchasers.

The entire PJD team had their hands full attending to all the enquiries and sales...

Every new Wellesley Residences purchaser also received a custom-made figurine as well.

The event was celebrated in a carnival-like atmosphere and to help kick-start things was the ever-popular Mr. Clown.

And a carnival would not be complete without the cotton candy and popcorn stalls.

The Snack Corner was much appreciated by the guests.

There were a few other attractions available for the guest and these PS3 and Wii games with their full set of accessories provided the thrills and excitement.

The Hand Wax art was also quite well received.

The children kept themselves occupied with the Sand Art facilities.

And for the more adventurous, there was the Body & Face painting.

And the PJD team members wore the Wellesley Residences logo proudly.

The climax of the event was the lucky draw and a few lucky winners went home very satisfied indeed.

Popular Home Features

Whether you are shopping for a new home or want to update your current home here are a few features which are among the most popular with home buyers. Even if one does not appeal to you it's smart to keep in mind when considering your home's future resale value.

Energy Efficiency

Now more than ever, we are a population of energy conscious consumers. Today's home buyers are often in search of sustainable design features that conserve energy. From construction details like solar panels and reclaimed building materials to energy saving appliances, doors, and windows, the trend is here to stay. When you are home-hunting or updating your present home, become knowledgeable about the possibilities.

Upscale Master Bath

Many are seeking to recreate the spa experience at home. Now many bathrooms are larger and more imposing than the typical toilet/tub/shower arrangements of the past. Today's master bath is often dramatically constructed from glass, stone, tile or cement. Fixtures are heavy duty stainless or nickel and options such as self-closing/cleaning toilets, steam showers, saunas, and bidets are popular.

Family Room Kitchens

When it comes to cooking and entertaining, we've taken it to a whole new level. Gourmet kitchens became a prevalent design feature about ten years ago and show no signs of going away. Solid surface countertops, stainless steel appliances, oversize cook-tops, extra sinks and ovens are practically standard these days. Another kitchen trend that is evolving is the inclusion of a home's family room; either directly adjacent to or as part of the kitchen. We've all been there: at parties or family gatherings, where does everyone invariably end up? The kitchen, of course! So it just make sense to go ahead and put in some comfy seating, ambient lighting, perhaps a sound system, and just enjoy it!

Special Interest Room

There is often at least one room or space in most homes that fails to serve its designated purpose. Lately, this problem has been resolved with the creation of a special interest room. Of course, just which interest is addressed will depend on the needs and interests of the homeowners. These rooms are often being transformed into home gyms, yoga studios, playrooms, media rooms, craft/hobby rooms, and even laundry rooms. The wonderful thing about this trend is that the choice is only limited by the creativity of the homeowner!
